Power of Stocktwits

This was pretty cool. I was sitting waiting for a CNBC shot. 99% of the time when I am on television, I have no idea what the anchor is going to ask. It’s true extemporaneous speaking. Fun, but can be difficult. Very tough on the anchors as well, they have to be on their toes, since they never know what is going to come out of their guests mouth.

That being said, I do prepare for these shots by looking at charts, reading etc. You try to be ready for anything. In this case, this morning we had an interest rate increase in China, a mini-flash crash on the DAX in Europe, and articles on higher silver prices in the WSJ. Plus, the S+P was only slightly lower overnight. That’s what I assumed we would be talking about.

Joe Kernan said we were going to talk about oil. There was a commercial. I was able to go into my Stocktwits ap on my iPhone, pick up chatter, charts, price levels and get a clear picture of the oil market in 2 minutes. Of course, since I follow markets it helps to have a base of knowledge to build off of.
