Wednesday Morning Update

Well, I am now back up, sort of. I missed most of yesterday’s market, but it doesn’t look like I missed that much, but today might be a different story. We got a pretty good ramp up at the open, and are now slammed right up against what looks like the first resistance level at 1303. Today is the second day off the low, so it is too early for a follow through day, and today we might be getting another beautiful shorting opportunity. The sectors are doing just what you would expect in a bounce: XLE and XLB are way out front, XLP and XLU are way behind. The Nasdaq and Russell 2000 are leading. Oil, gold, and treasury yields are all up.

I have 34neew highs so far, with no breakouts that I can see. I do not yet have spreadsheet access so I do not have my earnings schedule. Just as an update, yesterday I did a scan of my hard drive with a free program called “Recuva”. The scan took all day and gave me a list of recoverable files, which I will be recovering today. The good news is that all the spreadsheets and databases I use for this one have been recovered intact expect for one: the most recent spreadsheet I made for the price relative project (the stocks hitting new highs but not breaking out, and showing a very strong uptrend in price relative). That one can be reconstructed, but it will take quite some time. I also got pictures of my granddaughter recovered. The biggest losses were stuff that I use for my other blog, and those are going to be a pain to reconstruct. I should be ready to start re-installing software this afternoon, but may not be back up to full speed until Friday (I have a niece graduating high school tomorrow, so will be there most of the day).  Another casualty was my Market Watch password. The last time that happened, it took about two weeks and several e-mails, some of which got a little nasty, to get it back, and I don’t think I want to go through that again, so this may be the end of the Market Watch game. I should have some charts this afternoon, but will likely not be doing anything here intraday.
