Shocking Prediction: Shares Of One Little-Known Company Could Skyrocket On This Global Trend

In less than a month, the city of Sochi, Russia’s population will expand by one-third.

Even on an ordinary day, the 343,000 people of mixed nationalities, languages and religions in this subtropical region are exposed to tension and gun-toting civilians.

I find it a bit odd that a city more likely to experience gunfire than snow in February will play host to the 2014 Winter Olympics—and more than 100,000 athletes and spectators—but it is what it is.

So the plan by Russian authorities, the FBI and the Olympic Council, is to position 36,000 police in every nook and cranny of the village.

No matter where visitors go, armed forces will make their presence known and—god willing—deter any bad buys who might be up to no good.

While that’s happening on the Olympic grounds, an unseen form of security will be in place at the Sochi airport, the main thoroughfare for foreigners coming into Russia.

The 550 HD surveillance cameras will capture every blemish, crease, smudge and dimple—some 40,000 different points—on the faces of passersby.

Loaded with 3D facial recognition software, the cameras will then compare each photo to a criminal database and make a bust within two seconds, if necessary.

That’s not all. This new generation tool can alert all on-duty airport security if an emergency arises or a questionable person needs to be detained. Plus, it can grant or deny employee access into airport checkpoints using an ID card reader.

As you could imagine, there are only a few companies creating this relatively new technology for what I predict will be a boom in Homeland Security devices. And there is one whose investment potential I particularly like.

While, in Sochi Russia is using the technology from Altec, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based, privately held company, the company I like for investment is a French firm… Safran (OTC: SAFRY).

Right now, the State Department, FBI and Homeland Security are deeply imbedded in a multi-billion dollar Next Generation Identification Program (NGI) designed to catch criminals and terrorists and Safran is their go-to company for next-generation surveillance equipment.

Actual security devices aside, Safran’s MorphoTrust actually maintains the databases of hundreds of millions of images that the agencies will use to catch bad guys.

But there’s even more to like about Safran, just ask the Department of Defense (DoD).

It signed MorphoTrust to a $17.8 million contract in March 2013 so the DOD can now match fingerprints, faces, even eyes with a platform the Safran division provided. The database is expected to contain at least 12 million searchable photos.

Plus, the company is working with the FBI and other government agencies to process and match finger and palm prints to help solve cold cases.

Safran’s potential for security devices doesn’t stop there.

You’ll be happy to know that a new technology the company is developing for detecting liquid explosives will even allow you to travel with shampoo bottles that are bigger than 3.4 ounces, hopefully by 2015.

As you can imagine, security is expected to play a major role in Safran’s future development and its close ties with the government will help them capitalize on the 23.6% growth the facial recognition market is projected to see through 2016.

In the meantime, Safran can rely on aerospace and defense, which generated the majority of its $18.6 billion revenue in 2013 and supported a 10% boost in revenue year-over-year for third quarter 2013.

Shares of SAFRY are trading near 52-week highs and finished last year up 61%.

Risks to Consider: This is a very thinly traded stock, with average daily volume around 43,000. That means it could take very little to rock the boat. That said, Safran’s share price has gained 230% since it debuted on the OTC market in January 2010, and has not displayed much volatility.

Action To Take –> Safran is firing on all cylinders so you can expect continued growth in 2014. Shares of the $28 billion company trade for $17, a good value in today’s market considering the projected growth of the facial recognition market, Safran’s increasing revenue and its share price momentum going into the new year. I’m a buyer at this price.
