The Daily Dab: A Quick Hit On Cannabis Stocks 01/30/14

The cannabis sector rallied for the most part,  with 10 double-digit percentage gainers and 6 double-digit percentage losers.  Fewer than  1/4 of the stocks had volume above the 30-day average, and  just 5 stocks traded over $5mm in value.

Plandia Biotechnology (PLPL) soared again as volume increased to a record level.  The stock has tripled since the company recently announced an alliance with Diego Pellicer.  AeroGrow (AERO) jumped on record volume after PTT Research made it a “Poised to Triple” selection.  Publicly-traded Scott’s Miracle-Gro has a stake in the company and sells a co-branded product.  Vape Holdings (PLPED), which will soon pick up the “VAPE” symbol, saw volume expand as it broke from recent trading in a tight range.  FusionPharm (FSPM) rose yet again on expanding volume.  Medical Marijuana, Inc. (MJNA) recovered recent losses as it shared news of a new distribution deal.

PharmaJanes (AEGY) led the way down and closed 57% below the high from two days ago.  Volume was above average but contracted from the prior day.  Easton Pharma (EAPH), yesterday’s winner, gave up some ground. Mentor Capital (MNTR) posted its third consecutive decline, while Tranzbyte (ERBB) pulled back for the second straight day, both experiencing declining volume.
