Auto Shows And Motorcycles
When I was a kid, I always wanted a motorcycle. I had one for a brief time, but it was a small bike. Honda 150 I think. I gave it to a guy on the floor who gave it to his son and they rebuilt it. The above video is an Oculus Rift video of a motorcycle trip to Sturgis.
Last summer, my wife and I happened to be in Nowhere, Minnesota. We were there for a funeral and were staying at this motel, and a bunch of bikers on their way to Sturgis pulled in. It was fun talking to them. They had some cool bikes.
It’s Auto Show time in Chicago, and along with the Auto Show, there is a motorcycle show out in Rosemont. Indian just released a new bike called Chief Dark Horse. Pretty neat details. Some bikes today have all kinds of bells and whistles. Heated seats, automatic windshields and incredible sound systems. Harley Davidson’s of today would be hardly recognizable to the Wild Bunch!
I am intrigued by the evolution of tech and transportation. What will cars look like in ten years if they are all driverless? Will motorcycles ever become driverless? It might make them safer. Two companies I am invested in UICO and NuCurrent might have a lot to say about that.
How would you design the car of tomorrow? What would you put in it? Maybe more importantly, what do cars have in them today that you would get rid of?
