Valens GroWorks establishes advisory board to advance the business

Valens GroWorks Corp (CSE:VGW) has formed an advisory board to help identify future growth opportunities and develop a leading Valens product brand.

The firm said it had already appointed experienced executives Phil Donne and Brett Channer to the board.

The advisory board will also leverage marketing initiatives and support international expansion.

“The creation of this advisory board marks the next exciting stage of development for Valens. With the initial appointment of Phil and Brett, each of whom bring a unique skill set and vast experience to the company, we look forward to working with these leaders to shape the future of marketing in the Canadian cannabis space and develop a leading Valens product brand we can proudly share with the market,” said Valens’s CEO Tyler Robson.

Donne has a background in the food and brand/communication industries, which extends over 30 years’ and spans eight countries.

He gained experience across Europe as president in several posts. Returning to Canada as chief executive officer of Kellogg Canada, he led a relaunch of the business that featured the breakthrough introduction of North America’s first meal replacement cereal, Vector.

Channer has more than 25 years’ of marketing industry experience leading businesses as the chief executive officer, president and chief creative officer and is now the founder of Mass Minority, a media studio with patent-pending technology that works with creative content to outperform the market.

It’s been a busy week for Valens. Earlier, it revealed it had been granted the all-important ACMPR licence from Health Canada for its cannabis oil ahead of the opening up of the adult use market in the country.

The firm received the licence to grow and produce the oil as a licensed producer (LP) under the ACMPR (access to cannabis for medical purposes regulations) through its wholly-owned subsidiary Valens Agritech Ltd (VAL).
