A Podcast With TopStep Trader

This week, I am going to start recording a podcast with TopStep Trader.  I have known the people at TopStep for a while.  I knew of them but met them after they went through the Junto Institute in Chicago. I did an “audition” podcast and it went well so we both decided to do it.

A couple of years ago, we thought about doing a podcast for WLV but there were a lot of challenges.  Not only did we have to buy equipment and find a place but there is a gigantic amount of prep work that goes into it in order to do it right.  Post interview there is a lot of editing that has to take place to make it “listenable”.  The recording of the interview is the easy part.

It’s going to be pretty free flow at first.

One of the things that I think is missing from trading is “community”.  In the old days of the floor, we did have a close community.  Outsiders denigrated it as a “club”.  It was a club that anyone could get into, all they had to do was write a check for a seat.  Most of the outsiders never took a risk, or never really wanted to take a risk.  They wanted it given to them.  We were just gamblers.

I think this podcast can help give people who use TopStep ideas around community.

Of course, we will interview some fin-tech startup entrepreneurs.  One of the things about trading is you are always looking for new ideas and getting exposed to different things can help you trade better.  Howard Lindzon has his “peloton” which is essentially that.  We will also interview some different folks that aren’t traders or who haven’t traded.  I have one of those “in the can” right now and we will release it once we get a cadence going.  As a trader, the more you look at things from different angles the sharper you become.

We will start recording some podcasts this week.  I am excited to start.
