BioLargo's engineering subsidiary wins its third US Air Force subcontract

BioLargo Inc’s (OTCMKTS:BLGO) engineering subsidiary has added another US Air Force subcontract to its arsenal, the company announced on Wednesday.

The agreement is the third this month for BioLargo Engineering, Science & Technologies (BLEST), and will see it provide air quality environmental engineering services to bases in Kansas and Illinois. The previous contracts cover facilities in Texas and Arizona.

BioLargo‘s shares soared 8.8% higher in Wednesday morning trade to $0.31.

BLEST is one of four subcontractors that are part of teaming agreements with Bhate Environmental Associates Inc, which assembled the coalition of companies to provide what’s called “fence-to-fence environmental services.” Together, the companies handle everything from hazardous materials, air and water quality, natural resources and more.

Bhate will receive $3 million over five years for its part in the work, the first of which is guaranteed. BLEST and the other subcontractors will receive a portion.

“We are thankful to be working hand-in-hand with Bhate to serve our country and the US Air Force,” BLEST President Randall Moore said. “We are hard at work on other similar bids for [face-to-face] project work.”
