CB2 Insights drafts cannabis CEO to its board of directors

CB2 Insights (CSE:CBII) (OTCQB:CBIIF) has tinkered with its board of directors again by bringing in cannabinoid (CBD) extraction CEO and longtime industry veteran Gerry Goldberg.

In a statement on Thursday, the company said Goldberg will step in as chairman of the audit committee, replacing David Danzinger in that role. Danzinger will continue as chairman of the board.

The new director is the interim CEO of Osoyoos Cannabis Inc (CSE:OSO), a CBD extraction company based in British Columbia. He previously served as CEO of the cannabis cultivator Canada House Wellness Group (CSE:CHV) (OTCMKTS:SARSF), and he sits on the board of FSD Pharma (CSE:HUGE) (OTCMKTS:FSDDF).

“Gerry’s deep-rooted financial background and experience in the Canadian cannabis industry are a fantastic addition at this stage in the Company’s growth,” Danziger said.

“His skills and connections perfectly complement the strengths of our current directors. On behalf of the entire board, I would like to welcome Gerry to the team.”

Goldberg is replacing outgoing director Danial Schecter, who stepped down from the board to pursue other opportunities.

The move marks the second new director for the company this week. On Wednesday, former Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) executive Peter Cummins joined the company’s board.

The Toronto-based company gathers point-of-care data in the medical cannabis space with the goal of making treatment more mainstream.

Shares of CB2 remained flat at C$0.20 on the CSE and slipped 3.2% to C$0.15 on OTC Markets.
