One World Lithium continues with Phase Three drilling program at Salar del Diablo

One World Lithium Inc (CSE:OLWI) (OTCMKTS:OWRDF) announced Thursday that it is kicking off the continuation of its Phase Three drilling program at Salar del Diablo in Baja California, Mexico. 

The Vancouver-based company is planning a 2,400-meter program consisting of four boreholes on the 103,430-hectare lithium brine project. 

The project’s operator Montgomery & Associates has appointed hydrogeologist Luis Gomez to supervise three crews running in eight-hour shifts, 24 hours a day.

Each borehole will be drilled to 200 meters with a mud rotary rig and then drilled and sampled using diamond coring methods to the planned maximum depth of 600 meters. 

Three holes are planned to be drilled, near previously drilled holes 1, 9 and 11 on the property which reached total depths of nearly 200 meters. The fourth hole will be drilled on the southern third portion of the property that is approximately 50 kilometers south of the previous drill holes as an exploratory hole to gain a better understanding of lithium anomalies found in the area. 

According to OWL, the phase three objectives include determining the possible presence of deep brine aquifers that may contain economic concentrations of lithium and collecting samples for laboratory analysis of major elements such as lithium. 

The company also plans to obtain drill core samples to analyze for drainable porosity that will help in resource estimates going forward, it said. 

OWL also noted that it will use borehole lithologic descriptions to identify hydrogeologic units and understand the basin to help calibrate future geophysical surveys and facilitate the development of a hydrogeologic model. 

Montgomery & Associates will use the results of the drilling and sampling program to recommend the next steps for the Phase Three program.
