Ximen Mining begins metallurgical testing at historical Kenville gold project in British Columbia

Ximen Mining Corp (CVE:XIM) (OTCMKTS:XXMMF) told shareholders on Monday that it is starting metallurgical testing on the Kenville Gold Mine in British Columbia.

The work will be completed in conjunction with Golden Dawn Minerals Inc (CVE:GOM), the company said in a statement.

Kenville is expected to produce gold-bearing material from planned mine development and bulk sampling within the coming year, Ximen told investors.

The two companies are working together to collect a sample for metallurgical testing to evaluate the possibility of custom milling at Golden Dawn’s facility in Greenwood, British Columbia.

A sample of gold mineralization from Kenville will be collected from historic drill core and submitted for testing to better understand the mineralogy and investigate gold recovery potential

Test work will also look at whether the tailings product will generate acid; however, Ximen told shareholders that it anticipates the tailings will be benign.

Ximen said that gold could be recovered using gravity and flotation processes at the Greenwood mill, and free-milling gold would be recovered in the existing centrifugal concentrator. A gold-pyrite concentrate would be produced by bulk flotation concentration.

No major modifications to the existing treatment facility are required at this stage, the company said in a statement.

Greenwood is a 200-ton-per-day gravity and flotation process plant that has been on care and maintenance since 2009.

Once the metallurgical test work is complete, the Greenwood mill will need to be permitted and refurbished for custom milling prior to starting operations.

The Kenville Gold mine project is nearing start-up of its new decline development and is anticipated to generate gold feed material in the coming year.
