LiteLink Technologies bringing 1SHIFT platform to eastern Canada thanks to new deal with produce company Pommes Ma-Gic

LiteLink Technologies Inc (CSE:LLT) (OTCMKTS:LLNKF) is bringing its logistics technology to the east coast of Canada via a new partnership with a Quebec-based company, it announced Tuesday. 

The partnership includes a commercial agreement that sees LiteLink opening an east coast base at agriculture company Pommes Ma-Gic Inc’s Rougemont, Quebec office. 

Vancouver-based LiteLink will provide the produce company with a trial of its 1SHIFT logistics platform, a technology that brings transparency and tracking brokers, shippers and carriers to track shipments and settle payments in real-time.

1SHIFT’s objective is to provide farms or producers with the ability to deliver product safely and quickly. The platform will help Pommes Ma-Gic to see if the best path was taken to maximize freshness and quality, LiteLink said in a statement Tuesday.

LiteLink’s new Quebec base is strategically located in the heart of the province’s produce industry. As part of the agreement, Pommes Ma-Gic will provide LiteLink with cold room storage facilities and trucks and trailers for the company to use in its research and development into temperature and moisture monitoring.

In addition, LiteLink will use the facility to test their IoT and 5G sensors and devices in different conditions.

Next generation produce delivery

LiteLink CEO Ashik Karim said the company is very selective when entering partnerships and Pommes Ma-Gic brings a “passion” to deliver fresh produce using next-generation technology.

Commenting on the deal, Karim said: “Not only will we gain important R&D capabilities and position ourselves in the heart of Quebec’s produce industry, Pommes Ma-Gic will enjoy real-time shipment visibility, including the ability to monitor product freshness in transit to enrich their service and customer experience.

Pommes Ma-Gic president Sebastien Alix said the company chose 1SHIFT because of its “ease of use, solid cost savings and technology enablement.”

“Quebec and the rest of Canada are rich with agriculture, and the industry is hungry to find value through technology,” LiteLink’s Karim said in a statement. “We have our sights on being a part of their ecosystem as well as lowering the cost and wastage found in spoilage.”

In September, LiteLink signed its first US customer for 1SHIFT in the form of a deal with logistics provider Bay Water Transportation.
