Internet of Things Inc (CVE:ITT) (OTC:INOTF) subsidiary Weather Telematics has signed a seven-figure multi-year licensing agreement with data-provision services firm Synoptic Data PBC.

Weather Telematics will supply Synoptic with raw vehicle meteorological data from its mobile platforms, including road temperature, air temperature, relative humidity, dew point, pressure, precipitation intensity, ambient light, and ozone concentration.

The company is launching proprietary sensors which will be placed on fleets across the US, and the road and weather temperature data will be integrated into weather research models, the company said.

“We are excited to be expanding our relationship with Synoptic Data,” Internet of Things CEO Michael Lende said in a statement.

“Synoptic has been and continues to be incredibly supportive of Weather Telematics. We look forward to contributing our proprietary raw vehicle meteorological data from our mobile platform.”

The company believes that the partnership will improve public safety by equipping weather forecasters the tools and data to more accurately predict road conditions and build more precise weather models.

Weather Telematics uses a proprietary vehicle-mounted mobile IoT sensor network and AI deep machine learning to generate historical, real-time and predictive road weather conditions, the company said.

Synoptic Data PBC performs technical aggregation and quality control services, in addition to providing global exposure for various data sets.
