And They Lived Happily Ever After

Yesterday my daughter Caroline and new son-in-law Spencer got married.  8 people.  Our cabin. We piped in the grandparents via Facetime so they could “attend”.  No traveling for them.  There was one photographer that we hired.

Some of our neighbors on the lake kayaked down and watched from a distance on the lake.

The music on the speaker worked.  The weather was perfect.  The dogs all behaved.  The fathers had them on leashes so they wouldn’t jump in the lake, chase a squirrel or pester someone who happened down the road.  While we held our spouses tightly during the ceremony, we held the leashes tightly too. The siblings officiated the ceremony, and the bride and groom wrote their own vows.

We took some photos and then had a fabulous dinner that both families all pitched in to make together.

We wished we could have done it with our extended families and friends.  They were in our thoughts.  I am sure my grandparents were smiling from above.

Such is getting hitched in COVID times.
