Zynerba says two poster presentations about its CBD gel were accepted for a virtual child neurology conference

Zynerba Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:ZYNE) announced Thursday that two presentations have been accepted for the virtual Joint 49th Annual Child Neurology Society & 16th International Child Neurology Society Congress (CNS-ICNA) meeting. 

The CNS-ICNA meeting will be held virtually from October 12 through October 23.

The presentations are titled, “ZYN002 Cannabidiol Transdermal Gel in Children and Adolescents With Fragile X Syndrome: Role of Methylation Status as a Correlate to Disease Severity and as a Prognostic Biomarker” and “Tolerability and Efficacy of ZYN002 Cannabidiol (CBD) Transdermal Gel in Children and Adolescents With Autism Spectrum Disorder: An Open-Label Phase 2 Study [BRIGHT (ZYN2-CL-030)]”

Copies of the presentation materials will be available here after the presentations on October 12.

Recent studies have suggested that neuropsychiatric conditions like Fragile X Syndrome — the most common form of inherited learning disability and attention deficit disorder — are associated with a disruption in the endocannabinoid system, and CBD may improve certain core social and behavioral symptoms by modulating the biological system.

In addition to Fragile X Syndrome, Zynerba’s Zygel is in clinical development in patients with refractory epilepsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder and 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome, a disorder caused by a small missing piece of the 22nd chromosome.
