Imagine AR Inc (CSE:IP) (OTCQB:IPNFF) (FRA:GMS1) is one of six companies featured in an upcoming white paper analyzing how the business model of sports is changing with the proliferation of smartphones and 4G data connectivity, as well as looking at innovative fan engagement solutions, including augmented reality (AR), computer vision and blockchain technology.

The paper, “Next-Generation Fan Engagement: The Coming Together of Content, Commercial, Code & The Consumer,” was written by the Global Sports Innovation Center (GSIC), which is sponsored by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT). It is scheduled to be published on January 19.

The ImagineAR case study features its work last year with the Louisville Bats baseball team, the Cincinnati Reds’ Triple-A minor league affiliate. The company helped support local restaurants by letting users take a picture with an AR version of the Bats’ mascot through the ImagineAR app when they ordered curbside pickup.

“The GSIC, powered by Microsoft, is a highly respected global organization consulting with many of the leading sports organizations and teams,” CEO Alen Paul Silverrstieen said in a statement. “We are honored to be included as a mobile augmented reality case study in this new white paper. It will further enhance our status as a leader in sports fan engagement using AR and create new global sales opportunities.”

The GSIC’s goal is to improve the value chain of the sports industry by leveraging advanced technologies and enabling business connections among startups, sports organizations, educational institutions and enterprise organizations.
