HighGold Mining hails regional exploration at Johnson Tract in Alaska, which shows widespread, diverse mineralization over large area

HighGold Mining Inc (CVE:HIGH) (OTCQX:HGGOF) told investors it was “extremely pleased” with regional exploration results from around the JT deposit at its 21,000 acres flagship project in Alaska, which showed widespread and diverse mineralization. 

The explorer unveiled Monday rock and soil sampling assays from work carried out last year, including at the Milkbone and Easy Creek prospects.

The regional program was carried out at the same time as a 32-hole drill program at the JT deposit, where HighGold already boasts a high-grade resource estimate.

Both Milkbone and East Creek are associated with a six kilometers long structure and, at the former, a strong gold-in-soil anomaly was identified, with a rock grab sample showing 184 grams per ton (g/t) gold, 46 g/t silver, 20% lead, 2.1% zinc and 0.1% copper.

Meanwhile, at Easy Creek, a 1,500 meters (m)  by 1,000m gold-in-soil anomaly (between 20 parts per billion (ppb) and 1,610 ppb gold) plus/minus copper, plus/minus molybdenum has also been identified.

In addition, new high-grade gold and silver assays were reported for veins at the western end of the previously identified high-grade silver-gold vein field at the DC prospect, expanding it to more than 1,000m in length, noted HighGold.

The soil anomalies at Milkbone and Easy Creek are open to expansion and will be a focus of additional follow-up during this year’s upcoming field season, the company added.

Along with the recently defined plus 1,000m long silver, gold vein field at the DC prospect, multiple promising new targets have been identified for future drilling, it added.

“We are extremely pleased with the regional picture emerging at Johnson Tract with recent surface exploration results now defining widespread, robust and diverse styles of mineralization over an area several square kilometres in size,” said HighGold CEO Darwin Green in a statement.

“We are looking forward to drill testing several of these new prospects for the first time in our upcoming 2021 field season while also methodically expanding our high-grade JT deposit cornerstone resource,” he added.

Johnson Tract is a polymetallic (gold, copper, zinc, silver, lead) asset near tidewater in south-central Alaska. It hosts the high-grade JT deposit, which has a resource of 750,000 indicated ounces of 10.9 g/t gold equivalent) and at least nine other prospects over a 12km strike.
