MBH Corporation publishes new research revealing strong outperformance of US, EU micro-cap stocks

MBH Corporation PLC (FRA:M8H)(OTCMKTS:MBHCF) has published a new analysis of key stock market indices in the US and Europe revealing strong outperformance of micro-cap stocks.

The diversified investment holding company said that micro-cap indices have dramatically outpaced those covering larger companies, illustrating the scale of the investment opportunity represented by many small, more nimble listed companies.

It looked at the average performance of 40 major indices – 10 each covering micro-caps, small caps, mid-caps and large caps in Europe and the US in the 12 months to 26 March 2021.

During this time, the average growth of the 10 indices covering micro-caps was 90.89%. 

The corresponding average figures for the small cap, mid cap and large cap indices were 73.78%, 57.58% and 45.03% respectively.

MBH, which acquires well-established micro-cap and small sized enterprises across multiple geographies and sectors, said that the strong performance is because many micro-caps rely on domestic business and generally benefit from hopes for rebounding economies and growing optimism here. 

In addition to this, micro-caps can find it easier to adapt to new market conditions than larger companies, and this has enabled many to reduce the impact of the Coronavirus crisis on their operations or even to adapt and take advantage of the new working environment.

“Within our own portfolio there are a number of strong examples of smaller businesses swiftly adapting and evolving in response to the challenges presented by the pandemic,” said Callum Laing, chief executive at MBH.

“So, for us, the huge potential of micro-cap stocks has always been abundantly clear, and our analysis just underlines it to show the scale of opportunity for investors with an appetite for small and micro-caps.”
