Talon Metals continues to hit high-grade nickel outside of Tamarack project resource area

Talon Metals Corp (TSE:TLO) (OTCMKTS:TLOFF) (FRA:TAO) reported a new round of drill results from its Tamarack nickel project showing good grades outside of the defined resource area. 

Assay results from three holes northeast of the resource included intersections of 5.3 meters (m) of massive sulphide nickel-copper mineralization grading 4.4% nickel and 1.5% copper starting at 135.3m. 

Other results included an interval of 1.8m grading 4.8% nickel and 1.9% copper starting at 193.9m and 2.3m grading 5.9% nickel and 2.4% copper starting at 191.3m.

The drill holes were all sunk in the area known as CGO West on the wider Tamarack project, in Minnesota, US.

In a statement, Talon told shareholders that it sees potential for CGO West to host up to 400m of strike length.

“The positive drilling results announced today continue to demonstrate the near-term growth potential for the Tamarack Nickel Project, particularly at shallow depths,” said Brian Goldner, head of exploration for Talon.

“So far, we have stepped out about 300 meters north-east of our resource area and have successfully intersected high-grade nickel and copper mineralization in an area with little historic drilling,” Goldner said.

“This new zone of mineralization (CGO West), along with the other new zone of mineralization that we have been targeting (CGO East), now suggest a potential continuation of nickel-copper mineralization extending several hundreds of meters to the north of our resource area,” he added.

Drilling continues within the CGO West area with the aim of delineating a new resource later this year.
