Lucky Minerals sees potential for bulk tonnage gold mineralization after Fortuna project sampling

Lucky Minerals Inc (CVE:LKY) (OTCMKTS:LKMNF) (FRA:LKY) said it sees the potential for bulk tonnage mineralization at the Macuche area of its Fortuna property in Ecuador after receiving trench sample results. 

In a statement, the resource company said that a 20-metre (m) long hand-dug trench and 20 samples had returned an average of 0.33 grams per ton (g/t) gold from systematic 1m by 0.50m panel samples.

“Our recent fieldwork at Macuche was a follow-up on an area that had gold values of interest, which we have previously announced,” Lucky’s CEO François Perron told investors.

“The goal was to understand the continuity of the stockwork system. These results indicate that the stockwork system is pervasive over 20 metres and the potential for bulk tonnage is very real.

“The mineralization in the trench remains open both to the east and to the west. More work needs to be done in the area to understand both the scale and controls of the veining. Local prospecting will be undertaken in order to follow up on some historical artisanal pits that have been located nearby.”

Across the 20 samples, assays included 0.438 g/t gold, 0.307 g/t gold and 0.462 g/t of the precious metal, averaging 0.332 g/t.

At Macuche, geological work will continue to better identify the extent of this mineralized area at surface, said Lucky.

“There are presently more than 18 samples, some coming from historical artisanal pits that are approximately 250m from the Macuche trench. These assays are pending and are expected in the coming weeks,” it said.

The Fortuna projects comprise 12 contiguous exploration concessions spanning 550 square kilometres. Fortuna sits in a highly prospective, yet underexplored, gold belt in southern Ecuador.
