Milestone Scientific expands sales team to capitalize on interest in CompuFlo and CathCheck medical devices

Milestone Scientific Inc (NYSE:MLSS) is boosting its medical sales team with the appointment of Chet Trechock as vice president of sales medical along with three new representatives.

Trechock has over 25 years of experience in the medical sales industry focusing on pain management, neurosurgery, neurology and orthopedics.

He recently served as vice president of nationwide sales at Flowonix Medical Inc, where he increased annual sales to record levels, and prior to that held the regional sales director position at Nevro, launching a high-frequency spinal cord stimulation device in the US.

Milestone CEO Arjan Haverhals called Trechock a “strategic sales leader with a proven track record in both medical devices and in the field of epidural drug delivery,” adding that the appointment will help accelerate the companyn’s growth and support expansion initiatives to more aggressively market its instruments and consumables nationwide.

“Chet’s extensive relationships with key opinion leaders and physicians in the field of epidural drug delivery will be invaluable as we work towards our goal of establishing our technology as the standard of care in epidural procedures during labor and delivery,” Haverhals said in a statement.

The Roseland, New Jersey-based company said the move is to capitalize on “growing interest” in its CompuFlo Epidural Instrument and CatchCheck System among anesthesiologists and hospitals.

CEO Haverhals attributed the increased interest in part to more hospitals re-opening their facilities to outside sales representatives, as well as the safety and economic value proposition of the firm’s system.

“Previously, we had made the strategic decision to await the recovery of the pandemic prior to investing heavily in salesforce expansion, which allowed us to preserve capital and extend our cash runway,” Haverhals added.

“However, we are now aggressively building our sales and marketing organization to capitalize on these opportunities. Specifically, we have expanded our sales team to 10 representatives, including seven seasoned sales executives hired in just over the past two months alone.”

Milestone Scientific is a biomedical technology research and development company that patents, designs and develops innovative diagnostic and therapeutic injection technologies and instruments for medical, dental, cosmetic and veterinary applications.
