Arizona Silver Exploration receives permits to drill up to 12 holes at Silverton project, Nevada

Arizona Silver Exploration Inc (CVE:AZS) (OTCMKTS:AZASF) said it had now received permits to drill up to 12 holes at its recently acquired Silverton project in Nye county, Nevada and is seeking to arrange roadwork and site preparation in late July ahead of the drilling.

The explorer said it will announce the securing of a driller and a start date when arrangements are in place.

Silverton is a Carlin-type gold system where the gold is localized along high-angle structures which feed flat-lying jasperoid bodies.

In the 1980s short vertical holes tested these and intersected low grade gold in and adjacent to the jasperoids, but no holes were drilled to test the high-angle feeder structures. Also, no holes were drilled to test deeper in the section for Carlin-type replacement gold deposits.

“Arizona Silver’s technical team believes the features present at Silverton are similar to the gold mineral system at the Long Canyon deposit, where gold occurs primarily along steeply dipping structures that lead down into flat-lying deposits locally,” the company said in a statement.

It added that the planned drill program will test three of the steeply dipping structures that appear to feed the adjacent jasperoid bodies. Surface samples from these breccias contain up to 9 grams per ton (g/t) gold.

The final permit arrived by way of a positive ‘Record of Decision’ on an amendment to the firm’s ‘Notice of Intent; to drill an additional four holes at the project.

Arizona Silver is focused on exploring underexplored gold-silver properties in western Arizona and now Nevada, USA.
