Brookside Energy prepares for well completion operations at Rangers

Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BRK) has started preparing for well completion operations at the high-impact Rangers 36-25 SXH 1 Well in Oklahoma’s Anadarko Basin, the next key step before production of oil and rich gas.

This follows successful casing of the horizontal (lateral) section of the well with the production casing string landed, set and cemented in place.

Rig being demobilised

The large Kenai Rig 18 has now been released and is being demobilised after completion of the Rangers Well drilling operation within the basin’s SWISH Area of Interest (AOI).

Brookside’s US subsidiary Black Mesa Energy has started site work in preparation for arrival of well stimulation equipment, the start of completion operations and subsequent production.

Operations on-site are proceeding on schedule, safely and without incident at the company’s second SWISH AOI well.

Preparatory work

Preparatory work includes the building of surface production equipment which will incorporate a heated horizontal separator, vertical heater treater, vertical separator and four 750-barrel storage tanks.

Rangers has been drilled as a mid-length horizontal well targeting the Sycamore Formation at an average depth of around 9,750 feet.

It includes about 7,500 feet of lateral section drilled in the Sycamore that will be cased with production tubing to be perforated and treated to allow production of oil and rich gas.
