Our Romantic Dinner for 2 Made Easy with Top Chef Meals #Ad

When you’ve been married for awhile and life kind of takes over with jobs, bills, kids, home repairs, etc…Well…It can be all too easy to neglect time together as a couple. 

I know in my marriage, we mean well. We really do. We just can’t always afford to go drop $100+ between a meal and babysitter to escape our home for a few, blessed kid-free hours. We’re on a budget, and it’s just not something we can currently swing very often. 

Instead, we try to get creative….Whether it’s a trip to the park to check out the wildlife, a trip to one of Ohio’s eerie castles for a picnic lunch, or a romantic, chef-prepared dinner for 2 out on our deck, we are always looking for affordable ways to stay connected as a couple. 

That’s why I was super excited to learn about the affordable, chef-prepared meals from Top Chef Meals! This company is awesome for so many different reasons. I’d love to tell you a bit about them, as well as how we put together an easy romantic dinner for 2 with their help! 

We received a nice variety of ready to heat meals from Top Chef Meals to check out for ourselves. Our package arrived quickly, and was incredibly well-packaged. There was a foam cooler, as well as tons of dry ice to make sure the meals stayed frozen throughout transport. 

We chose a bunch of different meals, from Chicken Cordon Bleu to Short Rib to Brisket and more….

What I like is that these meals are made to order, and can be customized when you order! If you or someone doesn’t care of a side that’s offered, substitutions are allowed. How cool is that?! 

Anyway, back to our romantic dinner for 2 on the home front. Dan decided to decorate our deck table with some construction paper hearts. He actually made these years ago, while I was pregnant with Sophie. He had written something he loves about me on each one. I thought repurposing these hearts so many years later was a great idea, and it was nice to re-read the messages on the hearts. 

For our intimate dinner, Dan and I wanted different dishes. Go figure. 

If I were preparing these meals myself, it would have been too much trouble to make 2 entirely different meals. With Top Chef Meals, it was no big deal. We could each have what we were craving, and our meals would be ready in about 2 minutes. 

​Yep. These meals are ready to eat in just a couple of minutes. 

I chose the Braised Boneless Beef Short Rib with Beef Gravy. My sides were mashed redskin potatoes and some wonderful cooked carrots. This is comfort food at its finest, folks! 

Dan had Chicken Marsala with a Mushroom Marsala Sauce. His sides were mashed Sweet Potatoes and some delicious Brussels Sprouts. 

Okay. I couldn’t type that with a straight face. Dan HATES Brussels Sprouts. HATES them. I ordered them so I could steal them off of his plate. I admit it. 

We absolutely LOVED these meals! They didn’t taste like any “frozen dinners” we’d ever had before! You could really tell that these were fresh and made with exceptional quality ingredients. 

Dan loved his Chicken Marsala and Sweet Potatoes. (I loved his Brussels Sprouts!) This dish was flavorful, the chicken was tender, and it honestly tasted like something from a restaurant or a foodie’s home kitchen. 

My Short Rib was equally decadent. My beef was SO tender, and the gravy was a savory flavor explosion in my mouth. My mashed potatoes were perfect, and the carrots were tender-crisp, just the way I like them! 

Overall, I am absolutely loving what Top Chef Meals has to offer. Their chef-prepared meals are so convenient, and they are incredible. I love the wide variety of dishes available, as well as the ability to personalize meals.
