The Interbrain is Human Wifi
I’ve been doing a little research into AI and came across this intriguing article about the interconnectedness of human beings in real time. Not digital interfacing, like all those Facebook friends you never even actually have met or spoken with, but direct contact interconnectedness.
I’m contemplating the differences humans experience with each other as compared to Artificial Intelligence and what AI may or may not be capable of surmising of the human interface mechanisms. So far this contemplation is just in the “Hmmm” area that resides in the middle part of my brain where I digest things and wait for verbal manifestations of solidified thought to arise. But…I might be weird.
If you haven’t yet done so, you might want to take this kind of fun and interesting personality test. I’d taken this kind of test previously and had the same result, and it was actually pretty accurate in the attributes and descriptive segments…And I fell into the “approximately 1% category”. Wish I fell into that category in the monetary spectrum. It may or may not be illuminating for you. But it should be fun!
Here’s an excerpt of the article and it is linked in the title:
How ‘wi-fi’ connects human brains and explains why people have ‘gut feelings’
“We can know directly about other people’s emotions and what they are paying attention to,” he said. “It is based on the direct connection between our brains and other people’s and between their brain and ours. I call this the interbrain.
“One of its advantages is that the connection exists in the background. We take it for granted unless it is brought to the surface of our minds.
“People with autism have little or no interbrain connection. They are often able to pick up or learn what expressions mean and yet that doesn’t seem to solve the problem of that lack of human connection.”
Prof Tantum believes that the communication between brains may happen as an ‘inadvertent leak’ and it may be linked to smell. Areas of the brain which have the most activity of neurons are located in the prefrontal cortex, and are linked with smelling. They also are situated where they follow the gaze.
