Anyone who knows me in real life knows that music makes my world go ’round. This has always been the case, and remains true to this day. I sing, and we have a piano, a keyboard, and guitars for the kids to learn. I also love nothing more than to crank up my record player and listen to my favorite artists on Vinyl. 

When I was a child, I have fond memories of attending band practices with my Dad, who just recently retired from gigging here on the Cleveland area music scene. He has played in bands since before I was born, and being surrounded by music and musicians growing up helped shape me as a person, allowing me to reach into parts of my soul that would be impossible to access without the magic of music. 

Now, I try to surround myself with as much music as possible. I attend TONS of concerts, whether they be huge, stadium filling shows or smaller, Indie artists’ shows at awesome venues like Cleveland’s own House of Blues. I dig every genre, every decade, and just love finding inspiration in the most authentic way possible: Through the language of music. 

Two of my absolute favorite artists are Cleveland’s own Machine Gun Kelly and the oh-so-funky hippy, Mod Sun. Coincidentally, the pair happen to be besties in real life. Pretty awesome, if you ask me! Anyway, this past weekend, I had the opportunity to see them BOTH at Machine Gun Kelly’s annual event, ESTFest.
