Anyone who knows me is painfully aware of the fact that I am a HUGE advocate for CBD and legal hemp/Cannabis in general. It’s basically one heck of a plant, with tons and tons of beneficial uses. In addition to bringing exciting new ideas to more sustainable building materials, fuel, paper, and even clothing and textiles, hemp products can contribute to our overall wellness.

Thanks to CBD, a good diet, abstaining from alcohol and tobacco, sleeping well, staying hydrated, and basically leading a healthy lifestyle in general, I have found I am able to manage my mental wellness without the use of prescription medications at this time. 

Please note: CBD and other hemp products are not intended to diagnose, cure, prevent, or treat any given ailment. More studies need to be done, and the FDA needs to do their homework in my humble opinion. I truly believe that the medicinal value of CBD will become increasingly clear and that any current, prohibitive practices might cease.

There are many different ways to consume CBD. There are edibles like candies and cookies, tinctures, topical lotions and creams, capsules, and of course, there’s the CBD Flower. (Think Cannabis’ 2nd cousin, who doesn’t make you feel all loopy cause she’s missing the THC.) CBD Flower is typically smoked, whether it be in a pre-roll, blunt, or smoked in a bowl or hookah type set up. Y’all know what I’m saying. 

I consume my CBD in many different ways. CBD flower, however, happens to be my favorite. I don’t care for the harshness of burning flower, or the mess that comes with ashes, grinding, etc. but I prefer the fast effect of inhaling CBD. This is an ancient method, by the way, used for eons and eons, since humans began ingesting substances for wellness reasons. 

That’s why I was so excited to try out the Elon CBD delivery system from the folks at E1011 Labs. This system is unique because it offers maximum bioavailability of CBD and terpines, but without the fire or mess. 

The Elon is a sleek, buttonless heating unit, which the “stems” plug right into. The Stems are cartridges packed full of the best quality, lab tested CBD Flower. There are 2 varieties available: The Uplift is an energizing Sativa like strain, perfect for creatives or when you’re on the go. Relax is more an Indica, and is great if you’re looking for unwind or maybe even get ready for bed. I have sleep issues, and the Relax Stem definitely helps me get into sleep mode.  

The unit comes with a USB charger so you’re always ready to go. Using the Elon is simple. Just plug a stem into the unit, following the arrow, and wait for the green lights to go from blinking to a solid state. Once the light is solid green, it’s ready to use. 

Honestly, you just smoke this like you would a cigarette or a Pre-roll. (This, however, is 100% tobacco free.) Even though the CBD flower isn’t fully igniting, it is being heated enough to produce some smoke.

The flavor isn’t bad, and there is no lingering smoke odor. This is a HUGE deal to me. I smoked cigarettes for many, many years. (Gag. I know.) I quit cold turkey a few years ago, and now the smell of cigarettes makes me positively sick.

Because they don’t contain any tobacco, these Stems DO NOT have that scent. I do not feel like I’ve reverted back to smoking when using my Elon. 

Anyway. 

Once the light is solid green, the unit will work for 3 solid minutes. This is plenty of time to smoke and enjoy your stem and get all the benefits that CBD has to offer. Should you need to pause your session, simply blow into the little hole on the unit, and it will immediately stop. Blow again to resume. No buttons to fiddle with, no complicated instructions,  and it’s so simple to use! 

Overall, I am definitely loving this new, forward thinking way to consume CBD. I love the fact that these Stems use premium quality, lab tested CBD flower in a safe, mess-free manner. The delivery is nice and smooth, and the effects take hold very quickly via inhalation. In case you haven’t enjoyed CBD before, you don’t get “high” like you would smoking it’s cousin, Cannabis. You will notice a marked elevation of mood, relaxation, and inspiration…..You just won’t feel intoxicated, if that makes sense. 

CBD is my go-to way to manage stress and anxiety during these weird and unprecedented times, and my Elon is a great way to enjoy its many benefits.
