Ready for another fun, family friendly movie night, perhaps to celebrate the start of another school year? 

I have a GREAT option for you!

“Camp Hideout” is a coming of age film that follows Noah, a troubled teen, to Church Summer Camp. He’s there to find himself, find out the meaning of true friendship, and of course, he’s hiding a top secret device from some unsavory characters that would do anything to steal it.
(The shenanigans there are epic, by the way!)

This movie stars Christopher Lloyd of Back to the Future fame, as well as Ethan Drew, Amanda Leighton, and Corbin Bleu. The film was very well cast, and the characters were all quite believable.

There were some religious undertones to the movie, but it wasn’t super overwhelming or preachy, and didn’t come on too strong. The messaging of faith, forgiveness, etc are woven pretty well into the fabric of the story, but it remained entertainment rather than turning into a sermon, and I appreciate that very much. 

Overall, we enjoyed “Camp Hideout.” It was a fun story to follow, and the Food Fight? Well, that was definitely our favorite scene, and made me think back to similar situations from childhood….Not as epic as THIS food fight, because Camp Hideout wins title of the BEST FOOD FIGHT, hands down! 

There were plenty of laughs. Plenty of times to ponder what friendship really means. And of course, there’s the prevailing message that if you have faith in your friends, and are willing to put your trust into others, you will always come out on top. 

Unless you get Poison Ivy. I hear that’s a thing at Summer Camp.
