There were lot’s of celebrities to catch up with at Saturday night’s Pit Party at Temeku Hills Country Club, Temecula, CA. I had the opportunity to chat with Melody Pinkerton from Frank the Entertainer and Alex Jacobs, a cast member of The Mole. Earlier in the day, both participated in a panel discussion and Alex referred to Melody as his fiance. That peaked my curiosity, so I had to get the scoop on the situation.
According to Alex, their meeting was a fluke. Moving from Atlanta to Philadelphia, he’d packed all his belongings into his truck and headed north. His filmmaker friend Paul insisted he stop by Spotsville High School in Virginia to attend a reality celeb party. Beyond his buddy, he didn’t know a soul at the event.
As Alex tells it, “I was feeling very uncomfortable being there not knowing anyone, so I was like, well I’m going to leave, but then Melody came over and introduced herself and immediately it was just wow!” For me, she’s just amazing and she puts up with everything that I am. She just makes me feel complete as cheesy as it is, I love everything about her. She’s my best friend. That’s what she turned into immediately.”
Melody had a similar reaction, “Immediately, I mean just look at his smile.”
Within 10 days, Melody was visiting Philly, meeting the parents – the whole nine yards. Three weeks later, Alex headed down to Nashville to meet her family and pack up her life. She was moving to Philadelphia. Melody’s mother was supportive of her daughter’s decision. After texting a snapshot of Alex to her family, her grandmother and sister returned messages, “Don’t let him out of your sight!” Dad was a tougher nut to crack, being concerned his girl was moving out of state so quickly.
“He fell in love as soon as he met Alex actually and he realized what a great person he was,” Melody recalls, and with that she headed north. Today, Melody works in the hospitality industry along with some modeling. She remains involved in events including an upcoming Reality Mania event in Houston.
Alex, a musician travels quite a bit with he and his brother’s band, the Jacobs Hill Band, (you can find them on Face Book) splitting his time between Philly and Costa Rica where he has a second home. Last January they left winter behind and headed to paradise, where Alex proposed. Although the couple has not set a date yet, clearly they are headed to the alter. Looking at them, one can’t help but feel they compliment each other on multiple levels.
So, a chance meeting at a reality gig turned into what should be a lifetime of happiness. Isn’t love grand?
