The Ugliness Of The Mob – And What We Can, And Must, Do

I will refrain from comparing the ugliness of Donald J. Trump to the ugliness of all the worst tyrants in all of mankind’s sad history by name. However I will offer this comparison; the people who stand and rabidly cheer on Donald J. Trump are the same people who stood openly displaying their own ugliness as they paid feverish homage to the ugliness of all those other tyrants.

The people cheering on Donald J. Trump are the same people who offered up their unquestioning obeisance to the worst of the destructive sociopaths who inhabited our past. They are the prey offering their necks to the predators. They are the stupid mob that takes all of us down with them in their righteous desire to “get back what’s been taken from them” – as if anyone could “take” from them what they were never able to earn in the first place.

This mob imagines that they have been cheated out of what is theirs by immigrants who come here with nothing. Immigrants who have far less than even they have themselves. Immigrants who possess a nobility this mob has no concept of. Donald J. Trump’s mob is a mob who sees little wrong with placing the children of these immigrants in cages because, after all, someone is to blame for their own situations – and their leader has made it clear who that “someone” must be. This pathology has been seen before – and many innocents perished in its madness.

Donald J. Trump and unashamed parasites like him now, in the past, and in the future, can not exist, and thrive, without feeding on the blood of their hosts. Without the confused and the gullible. Without keeping the mob in that state of confusion and ignorance. Without fostering hate and the haters among us. Nor can ugliness like his, and those like him, succeed without a system that promotes programs that keep the mob uneducated and unable to connect the dots back to the root causes of their unease. Keeps them incapable of attaining a decent quality of life. Keeps them mired in a daily struggle just to maintain. Keeps them fucking angry.

Parasites like Donald J. Trump cannot succeed without cultivating the mob’s worst inclinations. Jealousy, hatred, violence…fear of “the other.” These are the vehicles which have always borne amoral sociopaths, such as a Trump, to power. And always on the shoulders and backs of the chanting hypnotized mob.

The Republican Party, in their unabashed hunger to gain and hold power, at the expense of the well being of the country they have sworn to protect, has joined this ugly mob. They are the vanguard of the mob that props up the sick grotesquerie that is Donald J. Trump. This is the reality of where we now are as a country. We are now a kakistocracy. We are now ruled by the worst among us.

Still, we must, must, have hope. The remedy we have is to NEVER cast another vote for a Republican. I know this is unrealistic. So let us leave it at this; yes, we must win back the Presidency. But, we also must sweep the Republican Party out of the Senate. All the Democratic presidential candidates without a reasonable chance to win the nomination MUST run for the Senate. The sensible among us must insist that this be the way forward. The sensible among us know what four more years of Donald J. Trump, and a Republican Senate, will do to our environment – both planetary and human. We must encourage The Democrats to concentrate on winning the Senate as much as winning the Presidency. With the House and the Senate in Democratic hands Trump, if he wins another term, can be neutered.
