Asus Pegasus X005 Dual SIM Phone with Octa-Core Processor Gets Certified in China
Asus’s budget line-up is soon to get a new entrant named Asus Pegasus X005. The new device seems to be a mid-ranger with some modest spec sheet. The detail of the devices surfaced after it was certified by TENAA, an organisation that certifies cellular devices in China. TENAA has always been a great and reliable source for upcoming devices, as most of the devices originate from China.
The details of the phone are listed on TENAA’s website with a date of Dec 28 last year, which means the device still has a few weeks to see the light of the day. This is not the first device from Asus under the Pegasus series, the company already has 3 devices in the series, of which, the first one was launched in December 2014.
Coming back to the specifications of the Asus Pegasus X005. As per the leak, the device will sport a different design language than other Asus devices in the Zenfone series. The front of the device is dominated by a 5.5 inches Full HD TFT display, and the device is said to be running on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Zen UI on top.
The dual SIM phone will have an octa-core 64-bit processor under the hood that is clocked at 1.3 GHz. For handling multitasking, the device will feature 2 GB of RAM, and the its internal storage is rated at 16 GB, which can be further expanded by up to 32 GB using a microSD card.
The Asus Pegasus X005 will also feature 4G LTE connectivity, with support for other connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. For photography, it will pack a 13 MP rear facing camera with an LED flash, and the front of the device will have a 5 MP camera for selfies.
While weighing 176.7 grams, the device measures 155 x 76.4 x 9 mm. It is reported to be available in blue, white and gold colour options at launch, which should happen within a few weeks. The device seems quite interesting with great blend of features and specifications. It would be like icing on the cake if Asus prices it correctly.
