Sony Xperia PP10, Smart Earbud Surfaced For MWC 2016
Along with Galaxy S7 and LG G5, MWC 2016 may also witness the launch of a new Xperia smartphone, possibly the Sony Xperia PP10. According to recent reports, the sassy handset and a “Smart Ear” wireless earbud from Sony leaked to the web just before the event. As of now, the Japanese giant has given no word on the launch of such devices, except for the teaser that showed up earlier this week!
Sony Xperia PP10 inspired from Xperia Z5
According to a report from popular tipster Evan Blass aka evleaks, Sony Xperia PP10 might just be a smartphone codename or final retail branding. The device looks very similar to Sony’s flagship Xperia Z5 series, and flaunts power button (possibly with fingerprint sensor), volume rockers and camera button on the right side. Apart from this, nothing comes out on the design front for this handset.
In another update, Evan Blass also mentioned about Sony’s “Smart Ear” wireless earbuds. The device looks pretty much similar to Motorola’s Moto Hint Bluetooth enabled wireless earbuds, and are expected to launch alongside Xperia PP10 at the MWC 2016 event.
According to previous reports, Sony will unveil the Xperia VR headset, which has been in the works for quite some time, and is likely to show up ahead of PlayStation VR which will be power up by the PlayStation 4 console.
Recently, Sony’s Privilege Plus movie and TV show content app on Google Play Store was also updated with a new VR Theatre mode. But, the updated app listing also mentions a bunch of non-compatible Xperia devices such as, Xperia L, Xperia Z and ZR, Xperia M and M2, Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia E1, E3 and E4G, Xperia C3 and C4, Xperia M4 Aqua, Xperia C5 Ultra, and Xperia M5!
However, as for Sony Xperia PP10 and “Smart Ear” wireless earbud, there’s hardly anything to deduce as apart from a few leaks and design renders, there have been very few reports concerning the hardware and software specifications of Sony’s next smartphone. The company has been quiet for some time now, and we do sense a powerful smartphone launch at the Mobile World Congress 2016 or in coming days.
