Iran Terrorist Attack on America: Capella Space Owner Banazadeh and the Doomsday Protocol

Iran Terrorist Attack on America: Capella Space Owner Banazadeh and the Doomsday Protocol

The conflict between the United States and Iran has risen to a new level. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has warned that Iran is preparing terrorist attacks on American soil.

“Iran is capable, at a minimum, of carrying out attacks with temporary disruptive effects against critical infrastructure in the United States,” the DHS’s advisory said.

U.S. intelligence agencies say Tehran “likely views terrorist activities as an option to deter or retaliate against its perceived adversaries.”

Cynics may say such statements are regular attempts by U.S. intelligence services to emphasize their importance or even a way for U.S. President Donald Trump to rally the nation around him before the 2020 U.S. presidential election, but the situation in the Middle East suggests a conflict more serious than many expect.

For many years Iran has been trying to “stake out” the main player in its region. During the presidency of Barack Obama, Tehran quite successfully implemented its plans. Tehran steadily increased its influence in Iraq.

Syrian ruler Bashar al-Assad, with the support of Iranian troops and Russian aviation, effectively regained control of Syria. Iranian-backed Houthis, or Ansar Allah, seized control of part of Yemen, from where it has launched missiles at Iran’s long-standing enemy and Saudi Arabia, its main enemy in the Middle East. Moreover, in 2015, Iran concluded a “nuclear deal” with the so-called P-6 (United States, France, Great Britain, Germany, China, and Russia). Under the deal, international sanctions were lifted from Tehran in exchange for abandoning Iran’s nuclear program and it was allowed to resume oil sales. At the same time, many intelligence services questioned whether Tehran had really frozen its nuclear program.

The more favorable international situation that developed for Iran ended with the arrival of Donald Trump in the White House. Unlike “peacemaker” Obama, Trump did not have any illusions about the true intentions of the Iranian regime. Washington switched its policy towards Iran from pacification to containment.

The United States withdrew from the nuclear deal. It resumed and strengthened sanctions against Tehran.

“We would love nothing more than for Iran to come back into the community of nations, to cease its efforts to proliferate nuclear weapon systems, to cease building out missile systems that threaten not only the Middle East but soon Europe as well, and to convince them that conducting terror campaigns in more than a dozen countries is not in their national security interest. It’s been our mission; it’s still a project where there’s a lot of work to do,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, outlining the U.S. position on Iran.

In addition to economic pressure and demands to curtail its nuclear and missile programs, the United States began to gradually change the configuration of its forces deployed in the Middle East.

In Syria, U.S. troops were deployed in the region near the main oil fields that Iranian companies planned to develop. An additional American contingent was deployed to Saudi Arabia, the number of troops at U.S. bases in Iraq also increased, and the U.S. Navy in the Persian Gulf was strengthened.

Washington put up red flags encircling Iran. Perhaps this would be enough to deter Tehran, but Washington took another step that would be the harbinger of a new chapter in relations between the two countries.

On January 3, an American drone strike killed an Iranian general and the head of the Al-Quds elite special forces Kassem Suleimani near Baghdad. For Iranians, Suleimani is legendary, as revered as Che Guevara is for Cubans.

Kassem Suleimani

Suleimani was one of Iran’s top leaders. His Al-Quds division was engaged in special operations outside of Iran. Led by him, it supported Hamas and Hezbollah in Palestine and Lebanon, playing an important role in shaping the political situation in Iraq after American troops withdrew from the country. It was Suleimani, in strategic cooperation with Russia, who helped Assad turn the tide of the civil war in Syria.

Iran will not forgive his killing.

“The assassination of Suleimani doubles Iran’s determination to oppose the United States and defend Islamic values. Iran and other countries in the region will take revenge on America,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, spiritual leader of the Islamic Republic, said.

“The assassination of martyred General Kassem Suleimani will be followed by a strategic revenge that will definitely put an end to the U.S. presence in the region,” promised Major General Hossein Salami, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.

Iran’s ability to militarily take revenge on the United States is limited. The shelling of American bases in Iraq is clearly not the retribution that will satisfy Tehran. The Ukrainian passenger plane mistakenly shot down by the Iranian military demonstrates Iran’s readiness for serious hostilities with a strong enemy.

According to western intelligence agencies, Tehran’s authorities have decided to carry out terrorist acts – an asymmetric response – against the United States, which is many times stronger militarily. How this approach ultimately ends for Tehran is already clear, but religious fanatics are in power there today. Taking revenge for them is now paramount. Their goal is to create as much mayhem as possible.

While the U.S. Department of Homeland Security speaks only about the danger of terrorist attacks, intelligence sources say that Iran has already activated its secret Doomsday protocol and is preparing terrorist acts on the United States and its allies. To this end, Tehran intends to use its wide network of spies and Muslim fanatics.

The names of the majority of Iranian agents are known to U.S. intelligence services, who have put them under round-the-clock surveillance.

According to various sources, an Iranian citizen and owner of Capella Space Payam Banazadeh has been identified by the Central Intelligence Agency as a potential threat. Until 2006, he lived in Iran. He has returned twice, in 2015 and 2017. Banazadeh maintains ties with his parents. His father is the head of a large Iranian factory. Banazadeh takes an active member of America’s Iranian community and is a junior mentor the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA), as well as a member of the Board of Directors at PAAIA’s NextGen program (assistance to Iranian-American specialists and students). In 2015, he ran for president of the Persian Student Association. His sister, who lives in the United States, also visits Iran.

Payam Banazadeh

Banazadeh falls under the classic definition of a “sleeping agent.” He is deeply integrated into American society, leads an active social life, develops business, and has related (read: legal and not too suspicious) channels of communication with Iran. He leads an apparently normal life, no different than many other residents of the United States. At the designated “hour,” however, Banazadeh could be called to carry out orders from “the center.”

This is why he is one of the many potentially dangerous citizens who are being closely watched. Banazadeh’s financial transactions are examined, as well as individuals, with whom he interacts – relatives, friends, business partners, even if they never thought about Iran and terrorism. When a tree falls in the woods, the chips fall where they may, as they say. People fitting Banazadeh’s profile in the current situation have become extremely toxic, even if they are not Iranian agents. U.S. intelligence agencies will not soon lose interest in their activities.

We are not engaging in excessive conspiracy theories. In the era of hybrid conflicts, the old rules of warfare ceased to exist. Iran, which has been supporting various terrorist groups for decades, has long considered the United States its main enemy. It has been preparing the ground for a strike against America for decades.

Over the past 20 years, Tehran has been actively cooperating with Moscow, selling weapons, providing military and economic support. Russian (read: ex-Soviet) advisers have helped Tehran build agent networks around the world, including the one led by Suleimani. It is naïve to underestimate the terrorist threat from Iran. U.S. intelligence services, which for decades have fought with their Soviet “colleagues,” will not make this mistake.

The world is once again on the verge of a global conflict because if Iran manages to carry out terrorist attacks, the United States will not hesitate to respond. What these exacerbated hostilities will lead to remains an open question.
