As If You Needed Another Reason To Stop Watching Professional Football, The NFL Has Begun The Process Of Hiring Transgender Cheerleaders

The first openly transgender cheerleader has joined NFL team the Carolina Panthers– a “big” moment that she says she hopes will inspire others on and off the gridiron.

Some years back, as a then lifelong Steelers fan, I stopped watching the NFL because it went from being a fun game to watch to being a preachy, woke, and vaguely anti-American experience. So with the exception of watching the last few games that Ben Roethlisberger played in, I have not watched the NFL in about 3 years. Now that they have transgender cheerleaders, I am thinking about coming back just so I can make a statement by quitting again.

As Christians, we are called to preach the gospel of the grace of God and to be a witness to the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ according to the scriptures. Since a large percentage of people who watch the NFL are Christian, I think it would be great if they all stopped supporting the NFL as they careen forward into this new woke business model. For those of you who have read my testimony of how I got saved, you know that it was the witness of the people who held up those John 3:16 signs back in the 1970’s and ’80’s during NFL games that played a large part in me getting saved. So for that I am grateful. But that was then, this is now, and it’s a whole new ball game.

Carolina Panthers hire first openly transgender cheerleader in the NFL

FROM THE NY POST: Justine Lindsay, 29, said in an interview Saturday that she’s proud to “break down that door” for future trans athletes by joining the cheerleading squad for the Carolina Panthers’ TopCats.

“This is big,” she told BuzzFeed News. “I think more people need to see this. It’s not because I want recognition. It’s just to shed light on what’s going on in the world.”

Lindsay first publicly came out as trans when she announced on Instagram that she was joining the Panthers squad in March.

“Cats out the bag,” Lindsay’s post read. “I would like to thank the beautiful and talented dancers who supported me along the way … This is a moment I will never forget and I cannot wait to show you all what this girl has to bring.”

She said she was terrified to come out as trans online after keeping her gender identity a secret from even her best friend, whom she considers to be like a sister.

“I was so scared,” she told the outlet of the post. “There’s just some things you can’t post.”

“I just felt like when I posted it, whatever reaction I get from, everyone, it doesn’t matter,” Lindsay continued. “And then my phone started blowing up.”

Though Lindsay indicated she was transgender on her application, TopCats director Chandalae Lanouette said it was her skill as a cheerleader that got her on the team. READ MORE
