FBI Creates Terrorist to Blow Up Federal Reserve, Obama Says “You Didn’t Blow This Up”

According to NY Post, a “terrorist” has attempted to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank in Lower Manhattan with a 1,000 pound bomb (that’s a lot of hauling) this morning, according to the “authorities.” The culprit was Quazi Mohammed Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis, 21. He parked a van filled with what he mistook for real explosives outside of the Liberty Street building. He tried to set the explosives off by using a cell phone detonator. Nafis is here on a student visa, and is originally from Bangladesh, according to law-enforcement.

He came to the US to carry out the attack, and claimed to have Al-Qaeda connections from overseas. While trying to recruit more for the terrorist attack, he came into contact with the FBI.  The agent met Nagis three months ago. The suspect told him he wanted to blow up the bank. The suspect and the FBI agent planned the attack over the course of months.  After he tried to set off the bomb with the cell phone, he was arrested by federal agents.

He faces charges of trying to use a weapon of mass destruction as well as trying to provide material aid to Al Qaeda at his arraignment in Brooklyn Federal Court. Nafis received the 20 50-pound explosive bags from an undercover FBI agent he met on the internet. Nafis made a statement intended to take responsibility for the attack. Nafis stated he wished to “destroy America” by targeting its economy

FBI:

“Attempting to destroy a landmark building and kill or maim untold numbers of innocent bystanders is about as serious as the imagination can conjure. The defendant faces appropriately severe consequences. It is important to emphasize that the public was never at risk in this case, because two of the defendant’s ‘accomplices’ were actually an FBI source and an FBI undercover agent. The FBI continues to place the highest priority on preventing acts of terrorism.”

Is this an event created to scare the US public? One thing is for certain, there will in the future be way more NYPD crackdowns if Occupy ever wanders down to Lower Manhattan to confront the Fed.
