The World in 2016 – The REAL One, Part I

A 31-minute documentary, titled “The World in 2016” was recently passed along to this writer by the intrepid news team at SGT Report. The producer of this clip was the notorious hub of mainstream indoctrination, The Economist. More than enough to pique the curiosity of any self-respecting journalist.

This article will argue that The Economist has succeeded in presenting “the world in 2016”, but not in the manner which that propaganda outlet intended. The World in 2016 succeeds in showing us what the world is really like not through its content, but rather by what is omitted, and how this exercise in brainwashing was constructed.

This article will do, in a few, short pages what The Economist refused to do within the scope of a 30+ minute presentation: present a cohesive overview of our “world” – the world of the Oligarchs. Indeed, that was one of the largest/most important messages in the entire clip, buried near the end.

2016 will be a more unequal world than ever before…

How?

For the first time [in history], the richest 1% of the global population will enjoy a greater share of global wealth than the other 99%.

Officially, we live in the world of the Oligarchs, for the first time in human history. Yet in a 31-minute clip; how much time did this elitist publication choose to devote to this extraordinary, hideous, and intolerable reality? Fifteen seconds.

Note further how these elitists chose to frame this despicable truth:

…the richest 1% will enjoy a greater share of global wealth

No. This is precisely the point. It is impossible to “enjoy” hoards of wealth this monstrously enormous. No matter how long one lived, or how full one was able to cram their life with lavish experiences and luxury, no one could possibly spend (and thus “enjoy”) more than the tiniest fraction of those hoards.

What these Oligarchs “enjoy” is hoarding wealth, and (of course) stealing more and more, since their hoards are growing faster and faster. Stealing more of what they could never possibly use. Stealing more of what they could never possibly earn. Stealing more of what they could never possibly deserve. And every extra penny stolen/hoarded by these diseased Oligarchs increases the suffering of the other 99%.

It is here we get to one of the first of the hidden messages in this half-hour propaganda indoctrination: accept without thinking. Don’t think about how the Top-1% have stolen (literally) more than half of the world’s wealth. Don’t think about why this has happened. And certainly don’t think about how monstrously unfair this is: the world’s largest, collective crime-against-humanity — the economic rape of the entire planet.

Of course this mantra of “accept without thinking” is by no means a new message from the mainstream propaganda machine. Rather, it has been one of the central themes of the Corporate media’s propaganda for several years, encapsulated in a single, nonsensical slogan: “the New Normal”.

Why has the standard of living of the vast majority of the population in the Western world plummeted by more than half over the past quarter century, while (simultaneously) the wealth of the Fat Cats soars higher at a rate never before seen in history?

It’s the New Normal.

Over and over; the Corporate media “explains” anything and everything it does not want to discuss with this meaningless slogan, which is entirely non-responsive. What does the New Normal really mean? Shut up, and stop asking questions. Accept without thinking.

Why do the Top-1% now hold (hoard) more than half of the world’s wealth? Shut up, and stop asking questions. That’s the real world in 2016.
