Levi’s To Make Jeans Out of Plastic Bottles- The Waste
I applaud Levi Strauss who is continuing on their sustainable path by just announcing they will be making some of their jeans from a minimum 20% of plastics recycled from drinks bottles and food trays. According to Levi’s an average pair of jeans will reuse 8 plastic bottles with them planning to reuse 3.5 million bottles and will save enough water to fill 144 Olympic-size swimming pools.
The company has announced that the collection will known as Waste In 2011, the Levi’s released 1.5 million pairs of Water‹Less jeans, which they are increasing to 29 million savings of 360 million liters of water to date.
