Herbivore Clothing: Where Vegans Go for Cozy Clothes

When a frigid wind blows through the air, I most want three things: a hot cup of coffee, a soft blanket, and my coziest sweatshirt. (And if I could get a fourth thing – one purring cat, please.) When it starts getting dark earlier and the leaves rustle in the wind, it just kind of begs you to stay inside and settle down for a while.

My favorite sweatshirt for just such an occasion is this Good Luck Elephant pullover from Herbivore Clothing. (Truth be told, I have this same design in two different colors. I love it that much.)

Herbivore Clothing is based out of Portland, Oregon, where they have a brick and mortar store in the vegan mini mall. (What else is in the mini mall? A vegan bakery, vegan grocery store, and a vegan tattoo shop. Yes, there’s such a thing as a vegan tattoo.)

In addition to my favorite cozy sweatshirt, the Herbivore Clothing Company sells t-shirts, hoodies, buttons, and bags designed with fun-loving vegans in mind. They have a variety of animal-friendly slogans on their custom line like “Wings are For Flying, Not Frying,” “A Little Veganism Never Hurt Anybody,” “Only Kale Can Save Us Now,” and “Praise Seitan.” (Seitan is a plant-based meat made from wheat.)

They also offer books, scarves, socks, belts, hats, kitchen gadgetry, and more.

I visited Herbivore when I was in Portland in last year and loved doing some browsing in person. However, all of their products are also available online for easy ordering. (Although, that means you won’t be able to go for a vegan cinnamon roll and coffee at the bakery next door afterwards. Bummer.)
