Returning from a day of sampling, this boat was idling about an hour from shore. As you can see in the video, it has two tanks – one on the bow, and one off-board, semi-submerged off the stern. We have asked several fishermen and those experienced in marine operations: no one has ever seen a setup like this. Do you know what it is?

Sweet smell..?… I go right behind him and get some water to a test lab !!! Was there any sheen or oil in water there ? He may be lacing the water ?
Some versions of Corexit contain 2-butoxyethanol which has a “fruity” rather than petroleum-like smell. Can you describe the smell a little better then sweet ?? Would you say “fruity” ??

I posted a little later but getting steady hits not sure when it came online with ‘new inf’ for linking more stories to plausibility. … If one could pick up radio communications from that boat to handlers ? … Can we get a few Shrimping Captains and others to monitor frequencies there ? … Is there oil in the water up or under ? … Is it a fishing area that is closed ?

That’s a skimmer. Those “Tanks” are the skimmer drums.
They pick up oil sheen from the water and store it onboard until they can pump it out at the waste collection facility.
That liquid coming out the back is the inboard engines cooling water outlet just like the cooling water outlet on the motor these morons used to get their boat out there.
That sweet smell is them wetting down their legs from their fear of the unknown. Unknown because they are uneducated moron fear mongers.
I’m a HAZMAT responder. I clean up hazardous chemicals. I’m here in Louisiana right now doing my job keeping morons like this safe.

Without need for citing extraneous details, I could not believe my ears as I heard a spokesperson from the EPD declare that their organization would be doing, (as in was already doing) all of the inspections necessary to insure the world that not one tainted fish would be sold in an American market.
“What do you want the American consumer to do?” they asked. “Do nothing, keep eating fish like you always did before,” -was essentially his point.
This puts the onus for our protection on the poorest, (and in some cases I think the least reliable) players in the game, namely the fishermen & their partners.
“Zero Gulf Fish” is the new adage in our house, sorry!
