The Children of Fukushima are dying – now, today – of radiation poisoning because the
Government of Japan is more interested in protecting the nuclear energy industry than in protecting their people, and least of all in protecting their children. Although it is now illegal to speak critically or comment on the problems of Fukushima following the passage of Japan’s national Computer Network Monitoring legislation designed to “cleanse” the internet of critical information about the Fukushima Daichi disaster, little else is being cleansed in Japan.

Nurses report that children are suffering from sudden, severe nosebleeds, that they are exhibiting severe digestive and immune system problems, becoming lethargic and inattentive without apparent cause – all things you would expect in radiation victims.  These reports come from parents, health care workers, scientists, but NOT from the government of Japan, which maintains, as President George W. Bush a decade ago after 9/11, that the strongest need to help the children of Fukushima is filled when people shop, specifically when they eat the food grown near the reactors of Fukushima Daichi.

The Fukushima reactors are not slowing down in their dramatic and devastating radiation production and release.  That radiation has already contaminated ground water, soil and food of many types.  In fact, levels of radiation in Tokyo are more than 1000 times as great as the radiation levels which led to the evacuation of the area surrounding Chernobyl – and chernobyl was contained, as Fukushima Daichi is not.

Contaminated beef  from Fukushima prefecture is reported to have been sold – at fire sale prices – to schools.  Radioactive material is reportedly being burned around Fukushima in open fires, releasing vastly toxic radiation into the air to poison the soil and water.  Contaminated soil and debris are being trucked to the previously uncontaminated southern portion of Japan to be burned there, contaminating the rest of that country with deadly radiation. And children are beginning to die.

There is no safe dose of radiation exposure.  The rapidly dividing cells of children are far more radiation sensitive than the more-slowly-dividing cells of adults.  It is essential that their vulnerable bodies be protected immediately from this continuing assault. And we can help to do that through the Lollipops of Life program, with your help.

Radioactive strontium, cesium, iodine, plutonium, uranium and so on do their damage by binding to tissues and DNA in the cells.  They breakdown and dangerous high energy particles from their nuclei – thus, “nuclear radiation” which damage and destroy biological integrety and DNA.
