Chinese Teen With Vampire Fangs, Result Of Rare Disease

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

According to the Chongking Morning News,  16-year-old Zhang Cheng (a pseudonym),  from birth to his current age has had only two teeth, that look like a long pair of vampire fangs .

To speak is 16-year-old Zhang Cheng’s greatest fear because that would expose his two tusks.  He will have to wait until he is an adult for corrective surgery according to Chinese doctors.

Zhang Cheng has been diagnosed with congenital ectodermal dysplasia, which affects fewer than 1 in a 100,000  when a child is born.

Zhang Cheng’s home is in Guizhou where he lives with his mother Wang Hu.

The boy became increasingly angry as he grew older and finally resigned himself to staying at his home and avoiding the public and school as other children made fun of his teeth.

“This type of disease has no clear cause, but is  basically chromosomal and genetic.” said Professor Wang Kunfu a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Southwest Hospital. He adds less than  one in a  hundred thousand are affected by this rare but serious disease, which requires complex facial treatment for correction.
