Go Barefoot For Health: Chronic Pain is Gone!

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

After researching ways to reduce lower back pain I came upon an article that talked about going barefoot for health. This intrigued me because I don’t like to wear shoes in the first place. The article also mentioned on how even a tiny heel on the end of shoe can really hurt your lower back and put you off balance. So…Ladies, Gentlemen, and groovy nuggets I pronounce that I’m officially giving up shoes (most of the time) and I’m getting rid of all my high heels! Jeez…can I dance better without those darn things. I know what all you nuggets are thinking…Radical Rose is officially acting like a hobo now. Excuse me Willis! I’m only half hobo. :) If you are curious on knowing why you should go barefoot more often read on.

Walking barefoot is also known as “earthing”. Sounds cool….right? Earthing means walking barefoot on soil, grass or sand.

A review published in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health looked at a number of studies that highlight how drawing electrons from the earth improves health. In one, chronic pain patients using grounded carbon fiber mattresses slept better and experienced less pain.

Another study found that earthing changed the electrical activity in the brain, as measured by electroencephalograms. Still other research found that grounding benefitted skin conductivity, moderated heart rate variability, improved glucose regulation, reduced stress and boosted immunity.

One particularly compelling investigation, published in The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, found that earthing increases the surface charge of red blood cells. As a result, the cells avoid clumping, which decreases blood viscosity. High viscosity is a significant factor in heart disease, which is why so many people take blood thinning aspirin each day to improve their heart health. Another study in the same journal found that earthing may help regulate both the endocrine and nervous systems (Mind Body Green).

If you just want to find healthier shoes for your feet therefore…less back then check out these shoes below:

Those toe shoes look cool but if you try to walk in them, you won’t go far before your toes are rubbed raw. I’ve know a few people that tried them after I did. I never even got out of the store. They are horrible feeling.

Yeah Rose, it works for me consistently.
I need to get grounded especially after being around the computer where the radiation is really strong.

Oh good grief, I am so sick of BS cures for back pain. If going barefoot, acupuncture or massage, stretching, creams or other crap make your back feel better that’s great but your not in real pain, just discomfort. There are real back problems with REAL PAIN that people like I suffer from and we are sick of your BS

I do have tough feet, enjoy walking over soil, or sand.

I have done hard labor, without shoes.

But, there are rocks and other sharp edges.

Damage can be controlled with constant maintenance but still accumulates over time. My feet are cracked all over, inculding the toenails. There are gouges and bruises.

I find that shoes tend to absorb shock. I have less pain when I wear them, provided that they are well-fitted and somewhat broken-in.

So, my compromise would be to perform energy exercises while barefoot.
