Congress Demands Answers on Obamacare
Earlier this month, people all over the country were outraged to hear the condescending comments from an MIT professor. For years, Jonathan Gruber has been speaking at special events and seminars, boasting that HE is the one who invented Obamacare. When video footage came out, showing Gruber say THIS about Obamacare, it wasn’t long before Congress started asking some serious questions.
Immediately, President Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi both started to distance themselves from Gruber, even though they are on record talking to him and about him several times during the early days of Obama’s healthcare law. Gruber admitted, the American people didn’t know exactly what was in Obamacare, and they passed it anyways. Now, as House Speaker John Boehner officially files a lawsuit against the President for Obamacare, other top leaders in Congress are demanding answers from Gruber about his role in the legislation.
In another public speech, video recording shows Gruber saying the bill was originally written to fail on purpose, in order to push the tax burden off onto the individual states. While the second wave of Obamacare enrollment is already underway, the fight on Capitol Hill is far from over.
Gruber will be forced to appear in front of a Congressional Oversight Committee on December 9th. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on this story as it continues to develop, and keep you updated with any new information.
