Five Things You Need to Know Before Joining a TRX Class

What All Things to Know Before You Join a TRX Class

TRX stands for Total Body Resistance Exercise and it is going to be your new best friend when it comes to strength training.

TRX is a cool suspension workout that is focused on multiple muscles as you use the resistance of your own body to get strong. There are many TRX classes available where qualified and experienced fitness trainer will explains to you the basics of this effective exercise. You will be pushing and pulling your way through a fitness routine that is actually fun, rather than slamming weights in Schwarzenegger-style. For more details about TRX classes Click Here

No Need of Barbells

Participants in a TRX class will be using their own body weight for functional movements that build core stabilization and improve flexibility. Many traditional weight training workouts will only isolate 2 or 3 muscles. TRX exercises are designed to make you engage multiple groups through compounds movements. This means that you are going to work more efficiently in less time without having to walk around to different machines that scattered throughout the fitness center.

Prepared to Face a Challenge

This may not be the time for cozy sweats or short shorts. According to many expert TRX trainers, a participant has to wear non-restricting, lightweight, and breathable workout gear. Also, you need to bring a towel and plenty of water as these body weight exercises will challenge you unlike anything you have ever done before.

There is neither Basic Level nor Advanced Level

When it comes to TRX training, you can start at any level. It is one of the important benefits of using the TRX and this type of fitness exercise can easily be progressed or regressed depending on an individual’s abilities. If you do not have great balance, you can start with a wide base of support with two feet on the floor. As you get stronger and your stability improves, you can work your way up to using just a single leg.

No Need to get Freaked Out

Like any other exercise training, TRX requires training setup and you need not to get freaked out as it is user-friendly and safe to use. It uses a TRX Suspension Trainer which is portable, lightweight, and can hang from a wall mount, door mount, or an industrial S-Frame. Every TRX hangs from a main carabineer that supports two 6 foot straps with handles and foot cradles on the ends. There are also cam buckles and adjustment tabs to lengthen and shorten the straps on both sides.

Familiar Workout Routine

Using TRX setup, you can perform many well-known resistance training exercises such as pull-ups, push-ups, lunges, squats, and rows. There is a new kind of squat named New Kids on the Block. It is done with a single arm row and 180 degree rotation. You can start with your feet shoulder width apart facing the anchor point and one hand griping the handle to the side of your chest with your shoulder retracted.

Extend your arm gripping the handle by bending both knees, and drop your butt down to the floor. You have to rotate from the hips, reaching for the floor with your opposite hand. You have to drive through your heels, pulling from your arm holding the TRX. Finish the rotation and tap your opposite hand to the straps as high as possible. The ‘New Kids on the Block’ exercise works your upper body, lower body, and your core. If you really want to push it, you have to complete 3 sets of fifteen reps on each side as fast as possible.

If You Would Like to Try It

You can likely find a TRX class near your locality if you would like to try it. Many gymnasiums are now increasingly offering TRX classes as part of a comprehensive fitness program. You can ask your friends or colleagues who are now participating in a TRX class, or you search on the web for professional fitness training center that provides TRX sessions.
