Content-Container Interactions in Cosmetics Packaging

Regulation 1223/2009/EC addresses in article 17 the traces of prohibited substances that may originate, for example, from migration of the packaging. The safety assessor must therefore take into account these substances that may potentially be present. There is no particular standard for cosmetics products that specifies the method to be adopted. The approach presented consists of drawing on the study of existing data relating to contact with foodstuffs, along with additional targeted analyses.
