Reviews of Medical Breakthrough Massage Chairs JULY 2018

Let’s be honest, if you want to find dirt on a company, you can find it.  There is no company out there with zero bad reviews.  There’s a T-shirt I saw recently, and it said it all: “You Can’t Make Everyone Happy.  You’re Not Pizza.”

That about sums it up, if you ask me.  The truth is bad reviews are part of the price to do business.  It’s par for the course, as they say.

But sometimes when you search for the source of certain bad reviews, they can be traced to competing companies.  Frequently, these reviews are created by fake accounts to trash talk their competitors. These companies that pull these kind of stunts doing last long because eventually someone will sue them for defamation. They will create phony profiles with phony names, emails, and avatars.

Sometimes these reviews come from affiliate marketers.  Affiliate marketing is basically when someone earns a commission by promoting a business’s merchandise.  Oftentimes, these promoters post blogs to endorse these products and trash-talk the competition.   Yet another source of bad reviews are bloggers that are bribed.  It’s not uncommonly for established bloggers to be paid to create “hit pieces” on competitor.

The reason we’re even discussing this issue is because a few suspicious bad reviews have come to our attention.  We were in the middle of doing a profile on a medical massage chair company called Medical Breakthrough Massage Chairs, and discovered something fishy.  Medical Breakthrough has an almost unprecedented amount of positive reviews.  They have seventy-five 5-star reviews on Yelp, and practically all 4 or 5-star reviews on Amazon.  But among all these rave reviews there are a few blogs that are clear hit jobs.

One of these fake blogs was a listicle (a short article organized into a list) and two others were fraudulent consumer reports.  The listicle was an obvious spin on the facts.  It pathetically tried to reframe a bunch of information about Medical Breakthrough to create a negative picture of the company.  They cherry picked details, took certain things out of context, and outright lied in places.  But the dead give away that this was a hoax was that at the very end the author used the last paragraph to shill for a rival company.  The two fake reviews were equally shameful.

Both of these reviews were similar.  They ranked Medical Breakthrough, the medical breakthrough website among other prominent bands, and, of course, Medical Breakthrough massage chairs were at the bottom.  According to these reviews, absolutely nothing was redeemable about these chairs.  If you have these reviewers tell it, MB products were the worse things since the Ford Pinto.

But what betrayed these reviews most were the hyperlinks.  All the other sections detailing the other massage chairs included URLs that linked out to Amazon.  You could, literally, buy all the other chairs in the reviews except the ones from Medical Breakthrough.  These were clear bump off jobs, if we ever saw them.

Usually, we don’t get bogged down with the dirty market tricks of companies.  We generally stay out of industry politics.  However, we found these aforementioned blogs so egregious that we had to say something. 

Customers need to be aware when companies cross the line.  Massage chair are high ticket items, and we know that a lot of our readers do extensive research before they make purchases.  For that reason, buyers need to be able to separate real, legitimate product information from misleading fake news.

But the fact still reminds – Medical Breakthrough massage chairs is still a darn good brand. They work very hard to keep a 5 star rating. Trying very hard to make every one of their customers happy.

Overall, Medical Breakthrough seems to show a dedication to creating quality merchandise and customer service.  According to their website, they are open 18 hours a day, 7 days a week.  For a company that works so hard, it’s a same that potential customers could possibly be mislead by a few deceptive bloggers that are only out for monetary gain.
