The Latest Diet Trends Everyone is Talking About

Throughout our lives we consistently hear things about eating and diets like “anything in moderation is absolutely fine” or “as long as we eat healthy and exercise it’s fine”, however sometimes even as much as you try, it seems like you just cannot shift those extra pounds. At other times, it feels that an overall balanced approach to dieting just isn’t going to help you to get the body that you want fast enough. With the passing of every year, there is always a new diet introduced that everyone is experimenting with and each of these diets is completed with varying levels of success. 2018 has been no different. Here are some of the hottest diets right now that ought to ensure that you get and maintain a bikini body until way after the summer months are over.

The Mediterranean Diet

Even nutritional experts and professional dieticians speak highly of the Mediterranean diet which ought to say something about its effectiveness and sustainability. The Mediterranean diet is not just another fad diet like so many others, and nutritionists actually approve of it because this diet still enables a person to ensure that they are getting all of the proteins, nutrients and vitamins that they need.

The Mediterranean diet received its name based on the foods that are commonly eaten in Mediterranean countries and cities and towns across Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece. It focuses around consuming plenty of high quality, fresh fruits and vegetables, organic olive oil for cooking, healthy yogurts and plenty of legumes, grains and nuts. When trying out this diet, a person’s meat intake should be reduced (with more protein taken from fresh fish).

The Keto Diet

The keto diet is a real hot topic this season however whether or not it should be is debatable. This diet involves focusing more on fruits and veggies and reducing your intake of carbs. In the short term, a person may see a positive result from omitting carbs from their diet almost entirely, however in the long run this is not sustainable, and nutritionists advise that people are not able to gain all of the vitamins and nutrients that they need when they are neglecting entire food groups.

The Paleo Diet

The Paleo diet has soared in popularity in recent years, gaining worldwide attention and encouraging the opening of Paleo dedicated restaurants in major cities across the globe. It is almost a trendy thing to be paleo right now. In this context, Paleo is short for Palaeolithic since the diet concentrates on diet plans that people followed during this period. The diet is high protein, high in fat, and low in carbohydrates. The diet encourages eating more fruits and veggies, however the fact that it still omits entire food groups and includes so much meat has some people concerned. Some scientists and nutritionists have discovered that the paleo diet can cause diseases or deficiencies in the long term so who knows how long this diet will be around.

Conclusion

The best diet wholly depends on a person’s personal preference and what they hope to achieve. Ultimately though, nothing can really beat the notion of eating healthy, exercising regularly and treating yourself now and again. If you want to have a little dollop of whole egg mayonnaise at the side of your salad, or even an entire burger smothered with whole egg mayonnaise, it should not be the end of the world.

You should at least make an attempt to learn something about the keto diet instead of pulling bad info out of your butt. The keto diet is a low carb, moderate protein, high-fat diet. You are advised to get your few carbs from eating leafy greens. Most fruit has too much sugar for the keto diet, but small amounts of berries are acceptable. I would point out there are no essential carbs, or a daily minimum requirement. I would also recommend “The Obesity Code” by Dr. Jason Fung for anyone who needs to lose weight.
