Ebola Rages on in the DRC Congo

As of today, 14 October 2019, it has been reported that the Ebola Total is 3220 cases, and there has been 2150 deaths, resulting in an overall mortality of 66.8 percent> The mortality has remained basically the same ever since the outbreak started.  This is not a good sign as it shows that the treatments being used for Ebola are no better than they have been in the past.

During the Western African outbreak of 2014 to 2016 where there were reported 28616 total cases and 11310 deaths, the WHO authorized the use and investigation of unapproved treatments. This opened the door for alternative treatments that had not been allowed before. Sadly, the pharmaceutical industry stepped in and had this changed to unapproved medical treatments and eliminated the alternatives.

They have been providing extensive vaccinations against Ebola in the DRC bit this appears not to be working well as the disease continues to spread. Even vaccinated health care workers are still coming down with and dying from the Ebola Virus disease ( EVD ).

One of the saddist parts of this is that the disease is taking its highest toll among children and also women.
