According to a news release in The Pontianak Post yesterday, “the diversity of tropical plants in West Kalimantan has a lot of compounds that can strengthen the immune system and ward off coronavirus,” said Dr. Thamrin Usman, professor of chemistry at Tanjungpura University in the interview.

“Our biodiversity is very superior. To increase the body’s immune power, usually with Vitamin C which gives a warm effect such as ginger and other spices. Whereas to ward off Corona one can use virgin coconut oil. This material has been proven to boost the body’s immune system,” he said in the Pontianak Post article.

In addition, he said, it was reported from researchers in Wuhan that Chloroquine (Cq) can be used for the treatment of patients with Covid 19.

“By looking at the chemical structure of Chloroquine molecules that contain secondary and tertiary amine compound structures, it can be compared to kratom leaves. 

Because Mitragynine compounds in kratom are actually secondary and tertiary amines,” Usman said.
