An Alkaline diet described aa a group of loosely related diets based on the misconception that different types of food can have an effect on the pH balance of the body. It originated from the acid ash hypothesis, which primarily related to osteoporosis research.

Did you know that most of the foods that we eat today can harm our health? Foods are filled with toxic elements that can create an acidic environment in the body. This when combined with factors like stress, insomnia, or hormonal imbalance increases the risk of serious diseases. This can also make losing weight a challenge.

Did you know that alkaline foods can help lower the risk of numerous diseases? Hence you need to focus on having alkaline foods for this purpose. Further, these foods also help in making you stay active and losing fat. An alkaline diet is a diet that consists of fresh fruits, vegetables, roots and tubers, nuts and legumes, and also small amounts of meat and dairy products. A high acidic diet can upset the balance of the stomach and cause diseases overtime.

Hence, eating a more alkaline diet can protect you from diseases such as cancer, gout, heart diseases, and diabetes. The body’s system makes sure that the blood stays in its healthy and alkaline range once you include these foods. If the blood becomes too acidic or too alkaline, then the body automatically corrects it on its own.

1. Almonds:

Almonds are known to be alkaline nuts that can lower cholesterol levels and also re-energize the body. They are an excellent source of protein, vitamin E, magnesium, and fiber. You can also go for almond milk as per your preference.

 

2. Broccoli:

Broccoli is an alkalizing food that helps to improve digestion, detoxify the body, improve the cardiovascular system and fight cancer. Eating broccoli for four times a week is highly recommended for maintaining your alkaline diet.

3. Avocado:

Avocados are adept at neutralizing the stomach acids, they reduce the risk of cancer as well as improve your heart health. A single avocado can contain 400 calories and hence you have to limit your intake of avocados if you’re trying to lose weight. This is one of the best alkaline foods to fight cancer.

4. Spinach:

Spinach is a highly alkaline vegetable and it comes up with several other benefits as well. Besides its alkalinity, spinach also helps in lowering the cholesterol levels, as it is high in niacin, zinc, protein, fiber, vitamins A, C, K, and E as well as thiamine, vitamin B6, folate, etc.

5. Cucumber:

Cucumbers are full of water and hence keep you hydrated. They are rich in antioxidants that can fight free radicals and inflammation. They can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and cancer. 6. Celery:

Unripe bananas are acidic and ripe ones are alkaline. This is known to provide your body with essential nutrients. This is because bananas contain a variety of vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, vitamin b6, manganese, potassium, and dietary fiber.

8. Watermelons:

Watermelons help clear the body of toxins, as they contain high fiber and water content. Watermelon has a GI of 2 per 100-gram serving. Generally, patients with diabetes need to go for foods with low or medium GI, so as to not raise the blood sugar levels. Hence, it can be considered as the best alkaline foods for patients with diabetes.

Lemons are acidic in taste, but they are an alkaline fruit. These help in reinforcing your body and also provide you with several health benefits. Lemon extract can destroy malignant cells in a wide range of cancers, including breast cancer, colon cancer, and lung cancer.

10. Kale:

Kale helps in lowering the bad cholesterol levels (LDL) and also reduces your risk of cancer and also detoxifies your organs. Eating it for 3-4 times a week is considered to be good for the body. Kale is a cruciferous vegetable that contains many antioxidants like lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamins C, E and K. Its antioxidants help in removing free radicals from the body and prevent diseases like cancer.

11. Asparagus:

Asparagus contains both vitamin B and folate, this when combined with foods containing folate and methionine can reduce the chances of lung cancer by two-thirds. This alkaline food contains Asparanin A that arrests the growth of liver cancer cells and also kills them.

Red wine is an alkaline food that helps to lower LDL or bad cholesterol levels by 9%. When people with high cholesterol consume this every day, it can reduce the level by 12%. By reducing the cholesterol levels, red wine protects us against heart attacks.

13. Green Beans:

Consumption of green beans helps in preventing the pre-cancerous polyps that commonly lead to colon cancer. Increasing the dietary green bean intake is known to reduce the risk of cancerous adenoma recurrence and colorectal cancer. Its high fiber content will also positively impact the digestive system. It is one of the high alkaline foods to fight cancer.

14. Apples:

Apples contain 77 calories, 21 grams of carbohydrate, and 4 grams of fiber. It is also a good source of vitamin C and is rich in soluble fiber. Eating apples is known to lower the risk of type 2 diabetes. This is also due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

15. Cherries:

Cherries are antioxidant-rich foods. They also contain anthocyanins that can reduce inflammation and the flare-up of gout. Eating 15-20 cherries a day is recommended for a gout patient. You can also drink black cherry juice every day. This is one of the best alkaline foods to prevent gout.

      I don’t see how those foods are good for you when they are loaded with pesticides and can can actually give you some of the stuff you mentioned.

      Kinda Hillaryous, if you ask me.

      I find that there is a problem with this article firstly white potato, tamatose and pepper belong to the nightshades family and need to be avoided in these situations. most of the listed conditions are as a result of a poor autoimmune system. bananas although an alkaline has lectin in it which can set off autoimmune issues. nuts causes over time for the arteries to literally explode. Legumes are grains although rich in protein and nutrients, a poor immune systems hates grains. grains have the potential to set off other allergies in the body. The vast majority of white potatoe on the planet like soy and wheat has been genetically modified with special thanks to Monsanto and Beyer AG. I see this diet as being ineffective and causing a lot of people a lot of pain.
